Blackburn had no answer to Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney’s movement off the ball with the Bulgarian slamming home five goals while Chris Samba managed to grab a consolation goal late in the game.
Allardyce was clearly unhappy over his side’s performance and apologized to the visiting fans and said that they deserved a better display than what they saw on the pitch. The Blackburn manager will be keen to make sure that his side will put behind the heavy defeat and return to winning ways starting by collecting all three points on Saturday.
Meanwhile Wolves will be hoping that their last gasp win over Sunderland last weekend will prove to be a turning point this season as they look to pull away from the relegation zone. Kevin Foley, Stephen Hunt, Darren Bent and Danny Welbeck traded goals to go into the final minute of the game level on scores before Sylvan Ebanks-Blake came off the bench to give all three points for Wolves.
