The qualifying campaign for the 14th edition of the European Championship in Poland and Ukraine kicks off in September 2010 with 51 countries battling against each other for qualification to the main event. Euro 2012 Qualification Group
With Poland and Ukraine taking up two of the 16 spots in the Euro 2012 tournament, the remaining 14 places will be hotly contested by 51 teams across Europe. The qualification campaign has been divided into nine groups with the first six groups having six teams while the remaining three groups contain five countries.
While the winner of each group guarantees an automatic place in the tournament along with the best second placed team, the remaining eight countries will take part in the play-offs to be played on November 11/12 and November 15 2011. Following the controversy during the 2010 World Cup qualification, UEFA has declared in advance that the draw for the play-offs will be seeded.
